CNWE greetings to Denise Donato

The Canadian Catholic Network for Women's Equality (CNWE), extends greetings and congratulations to our sister Denise Donato, as she responds to her priestly vocation with fidelity, integrity and courage.

We thank you Denise for your many years of ministry working with families, working so that all may have opportunity to experience the blessings of a healthy and wholesome primary community. We thank you also for your attentiveness to the spirit of God moving within you, prompting you to present yourself for ordained ministry. As you make this life-choice, for your own life, and for the life of the world, please know that we your sisters and brothers in Canada are traveling this road in solidarity with you.

We lament the distance we have yet to travel in addressing sexism in all our faith communities. At the same time we pray with you that all of us may live not by our fears but by our hopes, not by our words but by our deeds. We thank you for your gracious deed of faith this day, for the choices you have made, and for the affirmation of life you are making.
