International News and ActionsMessage To Mary Ramerman On The Occasion Of Her Ordination The Catholic Network for Women's Equality (CNWE) in Canada, extends greetings and congratulations to our sister Mary, as she responds to her priestly vocation with fidelity, integrity and courage. We thank you Mary as you make this decisive life-step. While it is a deeply personal decision, we believe that you are stepping out not only on your own behalf, not only on behalf of the community of Spiritus Christi, but also on behalf of your Catholic sisters and brothers throughout the world. Please know that we are travelling this road in solidarity with you. To paraphrase what Paula Blanchard says in her conclusion to Margaret Fuller's biography, we believe that: "(Your) achievement cannot be measured except in terms of the handicap under which (you) gained it. … But in carving a niche for (yourself) on the enormous wall of resistance that faced (you), (you leave) a foothold for others." Thank you Mary. The CNWE National Work Group Marie Bouclin, Carol Connick, Veronica Dunne, Kirsten Goa, Velma Fitzgerald |

Mission: to enable women to name their giftedness and from that awareness to effect structural change in the Church that reflects the mutuality and coresponsibility of women and men within that church. |
