Missal Petition

We, the undersigned, are deeply dissatisfied with the New Roman Missal. It serves to decrease the “full, conscious and active participation” of the people of God at mass. Imposed on Catholics at Advent, the New Roman Missal is an awkward and confusing literal translation of a flawed Latin version of the mass introduced in 2000. It reflects a return to a pre-Vatican II theology of humanity and our relationship to Church and God that is narrow and unhelpful for the Catholic Church of the new millennium.
